In a tragic incident, at least seven people were killed and over 35 injured after a fire broke out due to the collision of many vehicles with each other including a truck, carrying chemicals, near Jaipur-Ajmer national highway.
“4 people have died (in the incident). Around 40 vehicles caught the fire. Fire brigade and ambulances have reached the spot. The relief work is underway. The fire has been doused off and only 1-2 vehicles are left. Around 23-24 people have been injured in the incident.” said Jitendra Soni, Jaipur DM. ANI reported.
In a post on X, the chief minister said, “Deeply saddened to hear the news of casualties in the gas tanker fire incident on the Jaipur-Ajmer National Highway. As soon as the information about the incident was received, I went to the SMS Hospital and directed the doctors there to provide immediate necessary medical facilities and take proper care of the injured.”
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma visited SMS Hospital to consult with a doctor, where the injured are being treated. He issued that proper care be provided to the injured and also visited the accident site.
Traffic movement was stopped after the incident led to a long queue of vehicles. Approx 300-metre stretch of the highway was affected by the accident.
