'India’s Biggest Challenge Is Dependence On Other Nations,' Says PM Modi In Gujarat, Urging Focus On Self-Reliance

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday stressed that India’s biggest challenge is its dependence on other countries and urged the country to focus on self-reliance to strengthen national security and earn global respect.

Addressing a public meeting in Gujarat’s Bhavnagar, Prime Minister Modi said, “In the world, we do not have any major enemy. Our true adversary is our reliance on other nations. Overcoming this dependence is crucial. The more self-sufficient we become, the stronger and more prosperous our country will be.”

Greater Foreign Dependence = Greater Country’s Failure

Stressing that the greater the foreign dependence, the greater the country’s failure, Prime Minister Modi added that to ensure a stable and prosperous future for coming generations, India cannot afford to have major foreign dependence.

“The greater the foreign dependence, the greater the country’s failure. For global peace, stability, and prosperity, the country with the world’s largest population must become Atmanirbhar. If we remain dependent on others, our self-respect will be hurt. We cannot leave the future of 1.4 billion countrymen to others. We cannot leave the resolution for the country’s development to the dependence of others. We cannot put the future of the coming generations at stake,” PM Modi said.

India Has Not Achieved Its True Success Even After Decades Because…

Prime Minister Modi claimed that India has not achieved the success it deserved even after six to seven decades of independence, blaming the Congress government for keeping the country trapped in the license-quota raj and isolated from the global market.

“Therefore, even after 6-7 decades of independence, India has not achieved the success it deserved. There were two major reasons for this. For a long time, the Congress government kept the country entangled in the license-quota raj, isolating it from the world market. And then, when the era of globalisation arrived, the only path to import was taken,” PM Modi said.

Congress’ Policies Prevented India from Realizing Its True Strength

Prime Minister Modi, further criticizing Congress, said the party’s policies had caused significant harm to the country’s youth and prevented India from realizing its true potential.

“Scams worth thousands, lakhs, and crores were committed. The policies of the Congress governments caused great harm to the country’s youth. These policies prevented India’s true strength from being revealed,” PM Modi said.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation for several development projects totaling more than Rs 34,200 crore at the ‘Samudra se Samriddhi’ event in Bhavnagar, Gujarat.
