Hyderabad, Telangana: AIMIM MP Mr Asaduddin Owaisi raised concerns regarding equality, law enforcement and religious sensitivity in his recent statement.
He referred to an incident in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, where 14 Muslim youths reportedly faced action for opening their fast (roza) on a boat. He questioned whether such an act could truly hurt religious sentiments and stressed the need for fair and equal treatment under the law.
Mr Owaisi highlighted that in a diverse society, respect for all religious beliefs should be ensured equally, and no community should feel discriminated against.
He also pointed out that during the holy month of Ramadan, certain establishments like liquor shops remain open, raising questions about consistency in addressing religious sensitivities.

In another statement, he reiterated that all citizens should be treated equally and that religious sentiments must be respected across all communities.
He emphasized the importance of equality, sensitivity, and mutual respect in maintaining social harmony.
A strong democracy is one where every religion, community, and individual is treated with equal respect.
