India COVID Tally: Active caseload rises again as country reports over 42,000 new cases, 562 deaths

NewDelhi: Witnessing a surge again, India reported more than 42,000 new COVID-19 cases during the last 24 hours which took the total caseload in the country close to the 3.18-crore mark. The death toll due to the deadly pathogen also crossed the grim milestone of 4.25 lakh after over 560 fatalities were registered in the country during the last 24 hours.

According to the data by the Union Health Ministry on Tuesday morning, India reported 42,625 new COVID-19 cases taking the total cases in the country to 3,17,69,132. The death toll rose significantly and reached 4,25,757 after 562 people succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours.

The active caseload in the country also rose with the rise in new COVID-19 cases. The active cases in the country now stand at 4,10,353. The total number of people recuperated in the country now reached 3,09,33,022 after 36,668 people were discharged during the last 24 hours.
