New Delhi: The Foreign Minister of Sri Lanka GL Peiris had to meet with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj today.
It is the first time when the foreign minister of the two countries officially meet and hold the talk after the result of Lok Sabha election and formation of NDA government in India.
Peiris is also scheduled to meet Chandrababu Naidu and K.Chandrasekhar Rao, chief ministers respectively of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
It has also been expected that Peiris will brief Swaraj on the tension between the two sides over the arrests of Indian fishermen for fishing in Sri Lankan territorial waters.
