Days after the NTA cancelled the UGC-NET exams it has announced to postpone the Joint CSIR-UGC-NET Examination June 2024, scheduled to be conducted between June 25 to 27. The NTA said that the decision is taken due to some ‘unavoidable circumstances’ and logistical issues. It added that the revised schedule will be released later through the official website.
The National Testing Agency released a statement that read, “The candidates are hereby informed that the Joint CSIR-UGC-NET Examination June-2024 which was scheduled to be held between 25.06.2024 to 27.06.2024 is being postponed due to unavoidable circumstances as well as logistic issues. The revised schedule for the conduct of this examination will be announced later through the official website.”
The CSIR-UGC-NET exam takes place biannually, in June and December, covering five subjects: Chemical Sciences, Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Physical Sciences, all in a computer-based format.
The development comes days after the Education Ministry cancelled the UGC-NET exam due to ‘integrity concerns’. The UGC-NET assesses the eligibility for assistant professor roles, junior research fellowships (JRF), and admission to PhD programs in Indian universities and colleges.
