PM Modi Unveils World's Highest Railway Bridge Over Chenab River In Jammu And Kashmir

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the world’s highest railway bridge, Chenab Rail Bridge and lay foundation stones on Friday for infrastructure projects worth over Rs 46,000 crore in Jammu and Kashmir.

He flaged off the Vande Bharat train service from Katra to Srinagar and lay the foundation of projects worth Rs 46,000, people are eagerly looking forward to a new developmental dawn on the union territory’s horizon. 

Chenab Rail Bridge is a world’s highest railway bridge and situated at a height of 359 meters above the river. This is a 1,315-metre-long steel arch bridge engineered to withstand seismic and wind conditions. A key impact of the bridge will be in enhancing connectivity between Jammu and Srinagar.

Prime Minister will also flag off two Vande Bharat Express trains from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Srinagar and back. This train is set to offer a swift, comfortable, and reliable travel option for residents, tourists, and pilgrims, among others.

The Vande Bharat train will cut travel time between Katra and Srinagar to just 3 hours, a reduction of 2-3 hours.
