Mumbai: A man had raped a minor girl for about a year in Sainik Nagar in Kausa area of Thane’s Mumbra town. Police officials had said that the girl had also become pregnant.
Mumbai Police Station official HS Kamraj said that accused had been identified as Rahim (age not specified) had been sexually assaulting the girl since October last year.
Police said that girl had been raped till September 1 this year at several places, including her house in the same area, Rahim’s house and a secluded place nearby. She also had been threatened by Rahim with dire consequences if she revealed the offence to anybody.
The girl is three months’ pregnant, has been referred for medical examination at Thane civil hospital, Kamraj said.
Police said that accused has been charged under sections 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC and also sections 3(a) and 4 of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012.
