New Delhi: Rajnath Singh, Home Minister of Narendra Modi government will represent India on Monday at General Assembly beginning of Interpol in Monaco.
He is expected to seek support for cases having international ramifications, including those related to terror.
Union Minister Singh is leading a delegation of four-member comprising CBI Director Ranjit Sinha and two Home ministry officials.
The Home Minister will travel to Israel for a bilateral visit after this visit, during which a number of agreements on security cooperation between the two countries are expected to be signed.
It has also expected that India may seek a permanent berth in Interpol’s General Secretariat as despite being one of the oldest members, it does not have a senior representative.
Singh is likely to meet Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his visit to Israel.
Singh’s tour comes more than a month after the meeting between Netanyahu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New York.
Netanyahu had said “sky is the limit” in terms of prospects of cooperation between the two countries, seeking “greater and greater” ties with India during that meeting.
