New Delhi: The Supreme Court of India had rejected the plea which seeks to rename India to “Bharat” on Monday. The apex court had also asked the petitioner to go to authorities with plea.
A bench of Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice HL Dattu asked the petitioner to first make an appropriate representation before an authority in support of his plea.
The court said that the petitioner can approach it only after making a representation and getting response to it.
The court said, “You (the petitioner) can come to us only after the authorities have responded to your representation or choose not to response.”
The court meanwhile dismissed the plea as it is being withdrawn.
