New Delhi: The upcoming movie of Ranbir Kapoor, Besharam had created sensation and controversy in between fans of Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan. The trailer of this forthcoming movie had elicited an extreme reaction fans.
The promo of this movie has received 6,000 dislikes in within 10 days of its launch. The trailer opens with Ranbir Kapoor urinating in the mustard fields while humming the song Tujhe Dekha Toh Yeh Jaana— a hit number of Shah Rukh Khan’s movie Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge — which hasn’t gone down well with SRK fans. In another scene, he tells Rishi Kapoor, who is playing a cop, ‘Sirf Chulbul naam rakhne se koi Dabangg nahi ban jaata,’ taking off on Salman Khan. Fans are now very violent on this promo of movie.
Director Abhinav Kashyap says, “I have just two moments — one from my own film Dabangg. In one scene, Rishi Kapoor who plays a cop is called Chulbul so Ranbir says ‘sirf naam Chulbul hone se koi Dabangg nahi ban jaata’. And the other where Ranbir is shown taking a leak in the fields and humming Tujhe Dekha Toh… I have taken the rights to the song. There is nothing offensive, the film is about an irreverent guy. Some fans have taken it personally and are coming up with atrocious comments. We are not perturbed by it.”
Fans have been expressing their ire online and comments range from being reprimanding to vitriolic. Given the huge number of fans of the Khans, this ban could hugely damage this film which is directed by Anurag Kashyap.
