New Delhi: The Supreme Court has dismissed curative petition against verdict declining to make Finance Minister P Chidambaram a co-accused in the 2G spectrum allocation scam which had been given by BJP leader Subramanian Swamy.
Swamy had filed the curative petition against the verdict of the apex court that had rejected his review plea that the finance minister be made an accused in the 2G scam case.
A bench of four judges headed by Chief Justice P Sathasivam said, “We have gone through the curative petition and the relevant documents. In our opinion, no case is made out within the parameters indicated in the decision of this Court in Rupa Ashok Hurra Vs Ashok Hurra & Anr…. Hence, the curative petition is dismissed.”
The Supreme Court had dismissed the review petition on December 11 and said that its decision did not “warrant any reconsideration.”
A bench of justices GS Singhvi and KS Radhakrishnan had said, “We have perused the averments contained in the review petition and have gone through the record of Special Leave Petition and are satisfied that order dated August 24, 2012 does not suffer from any error apparent which may be warranted its reconsideration. “The review petition is accordingly dismissed.”
