#AAP leader Dr Kumar Vishwas’s ‘ #EkNasha’ song irks the Badals family ?

 #Chandigarh : Aam Aadmi Party Sr  leader Dr Kumar Vishwas’s ‘Ek Nasha’ song, which was launched on Sunday, may have got a pat from party supremo Arvind Kejriwal but it has failed to impress the Badals in Punjab for obvious reasons – the song directly targets Badals.

The song accuses Badals of selling sand, roads, canal and fields. It also accuses Punjab government of trading heroin.”Sukhbir Bana dukhbir jadon Prakash karne laga andhera (Sukhbir inflicted pain when Prakash spread darkness)” says the song which has gone viral on social media. The song also talks about greedy police, farmer suicides, sacrilege and drug addiction and advises listeners to hold broom to clean the state.

The song features two drug stories carried by Mail Today and India Today digital.

The song has been released at a time when the state is almost in an election mode.

Shiromani Akali Dal leaders have threatened to sue Kumar Vishwas if the word Jat is not removed from it. “AAP has released this song for political gains. The song sung by Kumar Vishwas has maligned the image of Jats who have been shown as drug addicts. We will not tolerate this. If he did not delete this word from the song we will be forced to sue him in the court. We are consulting the lawyers to send him a legal notice,” Akali Dal leader Santa Singh Umaidpuri said.

When contacted chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal’s media advisor Harcharan Bains termed the song as a ‘mourning song’ and said by releasing the song AAP is trying to defame Punjab. “They (AAP) is trying to show Punjab in a poor light.Why they are not showing our players like Khushbir Kaur who become first Indian woman to win a medal in race walking at the Asian Games.AAP was exposed in SYL canal case which changed its colour when Haryana threatened to stop water supplies.The song is nothing more than a mourning song,” Harcharan Bains said.

AAP leaders said the song is part of an anti-drug campaign which the party will launch in the state soon. They claimed the campaign will educate people to give-up drugs and to return to the main stream. “This song tells the truth about the Punjab and Shiromani Akali Dal. They are unnecessarily raising the issue of Jat community as we are not targetting anybody,” AAP Punjab convenor Sucha Singh Chotepur said.

AAP spokesperson Colonnel (Retd) C D Kamboj said that the party will run a statewide anti-drug campaign. Kumar Vishwas will himself tour the state and apprise people of the reality. The reality is that Punjab has highest number of heroin users and the people are spending thousands of crores on buying Pakistan drugs,” C D Kamboj said.

A study conducted by AIIMS has found that opioids worth Rs 75,000 Crore are consumed by Punjab every year out of which heroin’s share is Rs 65,000 crore.

The study conducted by National Drug Dependence Treatment Centre (NDDTC) and AIIMS shows that there were more than 1.23 lakh heroin-dependent people in Punjab. While around 2.3 lakh people are opioid-dependent, around 8.6 lakh are estimated to be opioid users. Heroin-dependents are the highest at 1,23,414 in the country. according to agencies,
