HYDERABAD: United States President Donald Trump’s daughter and advisor Ivanka Trump arrived at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad early Tuesday morning.
Ivanka reached the state capital ahead of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit scheduled today.
The inaugural session of the summit will be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Ivanka.
Ivanka will also be part of a discussion on increasing women in the workforce through skills training, education, and mentorship on the second day.
After the inauguration, Ivanka and Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman are slated to participate in a panel discussion on opening up of opportunities for women entrepreneurs.
The theme of this year’s summit demonstrates the commitment of the US and the Indian government to the principle that when women are economically empowered, their communities and countries thrive, Kant said.
The summit will primarily focus on four thematic sectors — energy and infrastructure; healthcare and life sciences; financial technology and digital economy; and media and entertainment sectors, according to NITI Ayog CEO Amitabh Kant.

The closing session of GES will bring together key influencers that support, promote and fund women entrepreneurs.
Innovators in workforce development and training will discuss what works and what more can be done to open doors for women at the workplace.
Ivanka will also be part of a discussion on increasing women in the workforce through skills training, education, and mentorship on the second day.
The theme of this year’s summit is ‘Women First, Prosperity for All’ and will include 1,200 young entrepreneurs, most of whom are women.
