Jammu: The security forces on Thursday killed two Pakistani soldiers after the neighbouring troops violated ceasefire along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir.
Two Pakistani soldiers were killed in the ensuing gunbattle between the armed forces and the Pakistani troops.
Intermittent firing is still on, said reports.
No official confirmation regarding the killing of two Pakistani soldiers has come as yet.
Meanwhile, the security forces today killed an unidentified terrorist during a fierce encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora.
According to media, a heavy gunbattle is still underway in Hajin area of Bandipora.
Sources claimed that more terrorists are believed to be holed up in the area.
The security forces have meanwhile launched a massive combing operation to flush out the terrorists believed to be hiding in the area.
On Wednesday, a group of terrorists fired upon a civilian in Pulwama district of the state.
The victim was identified as Ajaz Ahmed Shah.
On February 26, a security personnel was injured after terrorists hurled a grenade at a police station in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir.
One security guard was killed after militants attacked a security guard post near Charar-e-Sharief shrine in Budgam district on Sunday evening.
Identified as constable Kultar Singh of the Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police 13th Battalion, the injured security guard was rushed to the hospital in an injured state where he succumbed to his injuries.
On February 22, an Army man was reportedly injured after terrorists opened fire on a search party in Paribal area of Hajin in Bandipora district of North Kashmir on Thursday.
A massive cordon and search operation was launched over specific inputs of terrorists hiding in the region.
