Lucknow: BSP supremo Mayawati today demanded dismissal of Uttar Pradesh government and imposition of President’s Rule over “deteriorating” law and order situation in the state.
I want to appeal to the UP Governor and also to the Centre that law and order is very bad in the state and they should seriously think about it.
The Samajwadi Party government should be dismissed and President’s Rule should be imposed in the state,” she told reporters outside Parliament House when asked about the killing of a rape victim in Mathura.
Unidentified assailants had yesterday shot dead the rape victim and injured her mother while they were on their way to a court in Mathura. According to the police, the victim died on the spot while her mother sustained severe bullet wounds.
Taking a dig on UP minister Azam Khan without naming him, BSP supremo said, Surprisingly no SP minister is reacting on these incidents but when buffaloes of any minister are stolen or even any small incident involving a minister happens, the entire machinery moves and action is taken against policemen.
Recently seven buffaloes were stolen from Khan’s farm house and the police had taken swift action to recover the bovines. The BSP chief said, “So there is no other alternative than President’s Rule in the state.
