Bhopal, 16th March: Once again in a shocking incident and making India let down, a Swiss national was gang-raped by eight people on Friday night in Datia district in Madhya Pradesh.
The incident took place near the town on Friday late night when the woman along with her husband was touring the region on a bicycle as part of their India tour, Datia SP, CS Solanki said to a news agency.
The couple was camping at Orchha when the shameful incident happened. It is being alleged that eight people robbed them and raped the lady.
Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh police have registered a case against eight unidentified people. Eight persons have been rounded up on the basis of suspicion and are being questioned in connection with the case, the SP said.
The victim has been admitted to a Kamalaraje hospital in Gwalior and her medical tests have confirmed rape, police sources said.
