Social media network should use to reach to people- Modi

New Delhi, May 22: The parliamentary board meeting of BJP had sidestepped discussion on its Prime Ministerial candidate and strains within the NDA over the issue on Tuesday.

BJP general secretary Ananth Kumar responded to queries and said, “This issue was not the subject of discussion during the parliamentary board meeting today,” whether prime ministerial candidate issue came up for discussion. Instead, the meeting discussed the party’s strategy to dislodge the UPA government, which enters election year on Wednesday.

Ananth Kumar said, “Modi suggested that the spread and reach of social media and social network should be used to reach out to people, especially the youth.” According to Kumar, the party’s most popular leader, Narendra Modi, emphasised the need to effectively communicate the alleged “failures” of the UPA government to the electorate and suggested leveraging “social media” platforms to reach out to the youth. With Modi pitching for aggressive campaign against the UPA’s alleged failure, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj and her counterpart in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley will address a joint press conference on Wednesday to counter the UPA’s claims of achievements on the completion of nine years at the Centre.

The meeting discussed the resolutions of party on political, social, security and economic related issues for the upcoming national executive meeting in Goa, along with potential agitational programmes to mobilise popular support for the party to project itself as a credible alternative to the Congress-led UPA in forthcoming election.

Narendra Modi described his meeting with Advani as “wonderful” through tweeter. Modi also called on party patriarch L K Advani and former party chief Nitin Gadkari ahead of the meeting, and held closed door deliberations with party chief Rajnath Singh after the meeting. Due to increase in numbers of alligations and scams of UPA government, NDA is becoming the best option for replacement of current government and the image of Narendra Modi and his innovative ideas and ‘NAMO mantra’ is making popular to the NDA.
