Advani seems to oppose the elevation of Modi in BJP

New Delhi, June 8: L K Advani, the senior leader of Bharatiya Janata Party stayed away from the National Executive on Saturday. It seems that Advani had opposed to the elevation of Narendra Modi and there is also strong chance for Modi to become the chief of campaign committee for 2014 Lok Sabha election. It is the first time when Advani had skipped the BJP National Executive.

Meanwhile in this meeting, The CM of Goa Manohar Parrikar supports the name of Modi and praise him for his “administrative capabilities” and “popularity”. Parrikar also said that the projection of the Gujarat Chief Minister’s would give a tremendous boost to the electoral prospects of the party.

Parrikar said, “On the basis of public opinion, definitely Modi should be the face of the party. I am not saying he should be declared as the Prime Ministerial candidate. But he has to be the face of the party. This is what I am getting feedback of people…I know what is wrong and what is right.”

Parrikar said, “I have some communication with the common people and I get clear signal about Modi’s projection.”

Manohar Parrikar also said to project a person at least six months before the elections. He said that acceptability is a secondary factor for making government, a person or a party firstly have to qualify the level of popularity and then on numbers. Acceptability factor comes in only when you get numbers (close to forming the government),” the Chief Minister underlined.

Parrikar appreciate Gujarat model of Modi where Modi had given a “good administration” to state over last 10 years and “this is accepted privately even by Congress leaders.”
