Rahul Gandhi went to Uttarakhand for a “photo-op” – Naqvi

New Delhi: BJP vice president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi had made a comment on the visit of Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi at flood hit Uttarakhand to see the rescue operation and to meet the survivors. Naqvi alleged that Rahul Gandhi went to Uttarakhand for a “photo-op” and not for the purpose to provide relief or help to people in the rain-battered state.

It is noted that Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said that VVIP visits are impeding rescue operation and that’s why they didn’t permit Narendra Modi to visit Uttarakhand and congress define Rahul Gandhi’s trip to Uttarakhand as congress vice president is visiting personally their as a common person.

A day after the Congress sought to differentiate Rahul Gandhi’s visit to flood-hit Uttarakhand from that of Narendra Modi, the BJP on Wednesday continued to hit out at the party led by Sonia Gandhi.

On Tuesday, AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh had said: “He (Rahul) is not going for photo-ops. He is not sort of claiming like Modi that he rescued many people there.” “It is strange that the Army, the Air Force, paratroopers are all engaged in rescue operations day and night and this man (Modi) comes in and claims he has rescued 15,000 people. Don’t lie so much Mr. Modi, the people aren’t that stupid.”

BJP president Rajnath Singh said not to make politics on the rescue operation made by Narendra Modi in Uttarakhand.
