Congress launch ‘Khidki’ to attack on Opposition

Rahul GandhiNew Delhi: More than 200 spokespersons from across the country are gathering at Jawahar Bhawan to build media strategy to counter the opposition and tone up their skills ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. Congress is also launching its social media platform “Khidki” on Monday at concave of its spokesperson.

‘Khidki’ which mean window, is designed under National spokesperson Sandeep Dikshit, will disseminate party’s views on a particular topic, uniformly across the country. He will also apprise the participants of research methodology and linkages with the AICC by using latest technology and mobile phone applications.

This conclave will be attended by representatives of the Youth Congress, 10 party leaders from each state and the party’s student wing National Students Union of India (NSUI) as also those appearing in the panel discussions on TV. The sessions will be held in the Constitution Club where participants will break up into 10 groups for round-table discussions on different subjects.

Meanwhile Rahul Gandhi, vice- president of Congress, is slated to inaugurate the conclave and a dozen speakers have been identified to prepare spokespersons on different subjects for a media attack.

Commerce minister Anand Sharma will be talking on the positive impact of manufacturing policy and FDI in India, while general secretary and communication department chairman Ajay Maken will be wrapping up the first day of the session. The second day workshop will begin with a lecture by Delhi Congress MP Sandeep Dikshit and his team on research methodology and linkages with the AICC, while the party’s TV panelist Sanjay Jha will speak on “dos and don’ts” for speaking on electronic media.

The last session on “communication challenges” by minister of state for HRD minister Shashi Tharoor, using the video-conferencing facility.

Meanwhile the first session will be address by Union ministers Jairam Ramesh and Prof KV Thomas along with Dr. Mohan Gopal to apprise them about the food security ordinance. The post-lunch session will begin with finance minister P Chidambaram speaking on the state of Indian economy growth during UPA and NDA regimes and the road ahead. A separate session has been allotted for teaching skills of social media as a tool of communication.
