It is real “Height of intolerance”

mumbaiMumbaiA restaurant, Aditi Pure Veg, was allegedly forced to shut down and asked the owner to apologize over the defamation of Congress party by Congress workers.

On this incident, Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi tweet today by saying it “Height of intolerance”.

The restaurant has reopened today but comments on social forums highlighting its ordeal on Monday are bound to cause some heartburn in the Congress. The trouble began over bill receipts with this cheeky message: “As per UPA government, eating money (2G, Coal, CWG scam) is a necessity and eating food in an AC restaurant is a luxury.”

Mumbai Youth Congress Chief Ganesh Kumar Yadav claimed:”We did not shut down the restaurant – just took legal action. We protested peacefully.”

The “peaceful protests” ended when the owner apologized and agreed to stop using those “offending” bills.

The owner, Srinivas Shetty, reportedly upset at the service tax imposed on air-conditioned restaurants, had started using these bills since March.

But some Congress youth workers who happened to eat at the restaurant failed to see the humour.

On Monday afternoon, Congress youth workers led by their Mumbai unit president allegedly stormed the restaurant and asked the owner to shut shop, claiming it was an order from the party headquarters in Delhi. They also filed a complaint with the police.
