Noida: A Sub Divisional Magistrate, Durga Shakti Nagpal of batch 2009 IAS officer, had been placed under suspension. Durga Shakti Nagpal is the same SDM of Gautam Budh Nagar who was in the news since for clamping down on illegal mining in her district.
A senior officer here said, “Durga Shakti Nagpal, the 2009-batch IAS officer posted as SDM (Sadar) of GB Nagar, (was) suspended late yesterday by Uttar Pradesh government after a dispute related to a religious place.”
Officials, however, refused to elaborate the justified reason for her suspension.
It is known as Nagpal had led a crackdown on unauthorized mining in the district and got over two dozen FIRs registered against those involved in illegally removing sand.
Nagpal had formed special flying squads to stop the raging menace along the Yamuna and Hindon rivers in western UP.
Opposition parties are not opposing the suspension of her and are alleging that the suspension order has come under pressure from the mining mafia.
