New Delhi: The Supreme Court of India will hear on the PIL which is seeking the suspension and consequent issuance of charge sheet to IAS officer Durga Shakti Nagpal on Moday. Nagpal was posted as the Sub Divisional Magistrate of Greater Noida. Nagpal was suspended in July apperently for breaking down a wall of a mosque, an action the Uttar Pradesh government said could have communal tension.

The apex court bench headed by Chief Justice P Sathasivam said this when PIL petitioner advocate ML Sharma mentioned the matter before the court.

But the widespread belief that the issue of suspension had been strengthened by a Samajwadi Party leader’s public claim and this action was taken against her because she took on a mafia extracting sand illegally from the river bed in Noida.
