New Delhi: Born on October 16, 1948, Hema Malini has played various roles over four decades. Hema Malini is a Bharatanatyam dancer, choreographer, actor, director, producer and a politician. Till date, the actor has done over 150 films. The actor was known for her beauty, dance, comic timings as well as her dramatic roles over the years. The actor started her film journey with Sapno Ka Saudagar in 1968. Hema Malini was called as the ‘dream girl’ and also starred in a film with a similar name in 1977.
While the actor was working on the Amitabh Bachan and Dharmendra starrer Sholay, she fell in love with Dharmendra and married him in 1980. The dream girl’s popular films include Andaaz, Lal Patthar, Seeta aur Geeta, Dream Girl, Dharmatma, Sholay, Pratigya, Dost, Charas, Jugnu, Azaad, Trishul, Khushboo, Kinara, Ramkali, Baghbaan and Veer-Zara amongst others. As her filmi career became less demanding, the Baghban actor joined Bhartiya Janta Party in 2004 and since then has been an active member of the family.
