Mumbai: Maharashtra Governor K Sankarnarayanan has refused the permission to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to prosecute former Chief Minister Ashok Chavan in Adarsh housing scam.
A senior government official confirmed the refusal of Governor, “Yes, the Governor has refused permission to CBI to prosecute Chavan.”
Notify that CBI had made accused to Chavan for approving additional Floor Space Index to Adarsh society in exchange of two flats for his relatives.
CBI had also charged Chavan for illegally approving as the Revenue Minister the allotment of 40 per cent of the flats to civilians when society meant for Kargil war widows and defence personnel.
