Chandigarh: 17-yr-old from Khudda Lahora of city were allegedly raped for over two and a half months by Chandigarh police constables after she called the police to intervene in a fight between her brother and father. The incident has embarrassed the Chandigarh police which suspended 4 constables following the complaint.
The upholders of the law have been accused of allegedly gangraping a minor in Chandigarh. One of the constables who responded is alleged to have raped her after he lured her into accompanying him in the days following the complaint and it has been alleged that his colleagues took turns raping her for several weeks. The incident came to light when the 17-year-old said her brother who in turn contacted the area’s councilor and lodged a complaint.
Councillor, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh Saurabh Joshi said, The 17-yr- old girl’s brother approached me on advice about registering a complaint against the police with the police and The fifth constable who is allegedly involved in the incident is as yet unnamed while two constables have been arrested.
