Pak police find ecplosive near Musharraf`s House

ea30adeb41d6aafd288d891ad72a37556abd6af1Islamabad: 5 packets of explosives were found on Monday near former Pakistani military ruler Gen Pervez Musharraf’s farmhouse here; days after explosives were discovered on the road he was to take to a court. Explosives were recovered from the green belt on Park Road near Chak Shahzad farmhouse, According to the police.

He was supposed to appear in the court to face treason charges for suspending, subverting and abrogating the Constitution, imposing an emergency in the country in November 2007 and detaining judges of the superior courts.

On December 24, explosives were recovered from 70-year-old Musharraf’s route to a special court. Each packet contained around 400-500 grams of explosive material. His lawyer had then said security threats had prevented Musharraf from appearing before the court.

Security personnel had found two pistols, a five-meter detonator wire as well as 16 bullets near his farmhouse when they were clearing his route to the hearing. The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) had arrived at the scene and diffused the bomb which was found in a briefcase. Musharraf is slated to appear before the Special Court on January 1.
