Jaipur: A young woman, student of 3rd year, set herself on fire on Monday night and died in hospital on Tuesday afternoon as she was burnt 90% in Rajasthan.
She had given her statement before dying to police. According to her statement, the president of National Student Union of India of Shiv Charan Mathur Government College in Mandalgarh town (about 50 km from Bhilwara), Ajit Singh had pressured her into a relationship on the promise of marriage.
She also said in her statement that he refuses to marry with girl after sexually exploiting her for several months.
Deputy Superintendent of Police of Mandalgarh, Dharmendra Yadav said that the girl set herself on fire after betrayel of Ajit Singh and afraid to face her family.
Meanwhile police has arrested Ajit Singh from Bhilwara district of Rajasthan on Tuesday in charges of rape and abetment of suicide on basis of dying declaration of the statement of victim.
