If anyone Guilty in CWG scams should be punished: Rahul Gandhi

If anyone Guilty in CWG scams should be punished: Rahul GandhiNew Delhi: Rahul Gandhi on Monday distanced himself from the erstwhile Sheila Dikshit government of Delhi by saying anyone guilty of corruption in the Commonwealth Games should be punished. Asked if Congress would continue to support the Aam Aadmi Party if the Delhi government acted against former Dikshit in the Commonwealth Games scam, Rahul said

The blunt comment comes in the backdrop of Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal threatening to initiate action on corruption in the Commonwealth Games. Given Rahul’s refusal to take up cudgels on behalf of the chief minister once hailed by him as the face of development in Delhi, the comment appeared a bid to distance the party from the allegations of malfeasance against the Dikshit government.

It may now be difficult for the Congress to withdraw support if the AAP government initiates action on alleged Games-related scams. Dikshit, on her part, has maintained that she had nothing to hide and Kejriwal was free to examine the files that she said had already been scrutinized by the CAG and the Shunglu Committee.
