Congress fulfilled 90% of its 2009 poll promises: Rahul GandhiNew Delhi: Analysing the tenure as it nears the end; Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi claimed that the government at the Centre has been able to fulfill 90 per cent of the poll promises made by the party before the 2009 Lok Sabha elections.

I am proud to say that we have completed 90 % of what we said in our 2009 manifesto, Rahul Gandhi said.

Rahul Gandhi made the claim while the party leaders gathered in New Delhi to release its manifesto for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi, too, echoed the sentiments saying that most of the poll promises made in 2009 have been fulfilled.

The manifesto is the voice of the people of this country. I promise that whatever you have told us, we have written in this manifesto. The opinions and wishes of business classes are also reflected in this manifesto, Rahul said.

Rahul also added that there must be a firm partnership between the business class and the poor for the upliftment and development of the country and we cannot grow this country by either neglecting either business community or the poor.
