New Delhi: The Central Government of NDA had decided to provide the Z-category security to the MLA of Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Som. Report claimed that Union Home Ministry had decided to provide security to Som after he had ‘threat to his life’.
Reports also claimed that Som will be provided security by CRPF personnel but only within Uttar Pradesh.
Notify that an intelligence input had claimed that Som faced serious threat to life after which Centre took the decision to grant the security status to him.
Notify that Sangeet Som is MLA from Sardhana in Meerut and is an accused in the Muzzafarnagar riots case. Som had spent time in prison after was booked under the stringent National Security Act for allegedly circulated a fake video on social media that fuelled tension before the riots. He is also alleged to have made inflammatory speeches.
