CM Chouhan hails Rani Mukerji's 'Mardaani', to give tax-free status to film in MPBhopal: Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan hailed Rani Mukerji’s film ‘Mardaani’ on Sunday saying that it was a ‘soul stirring saga highlighting a societal evil’. He also announced tax-free status to the movie in his state ‘considering the bold social message conveyed by it.’

At the same time, Chouhan appreciated Rani’s performance in Mardaani and congratulated her husband and producer Aditya Chopra for making the film.

The MP CM also emphasised the fact that trafficking of young girls and women was the worst evil which needed to be eliminated. He said that ‘Mardaani’ had brought the subject into focus.

Mardaani’, in which Rani plays a Mumbai crime branch officer Shivani Shivaji Roy, released this Friday The movie deals with child-trafficking racket and has been directed by Pradeep Sarkar. The movie, produced under the Yash Raj Films banner, also stars Jisshu Sengupta, Tahir Bhasin and Sanjay Taneja.
