Uproar in Parliament over article on Jaya-ModiNew Delhi: A heavy uproar inside and outside Parliament on Monday over the controversial picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Jayalalithaa which had been uploaded on the website of Defence Ministry of Sri Lanka few days ago.

The Member of Parliament of AIADMK had uproar in both Houses after which they were adjourned.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu was forced to make a statement on the issue saying that India will raise the issue with the government of Sri Lanka. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said she condemned the incident.

The Sri Lankan Defence Ministry has tendered an unqualified apology to both Modi and Jaya over the defamatory pictures on its website lampooning the two leaders.

Earlier, Jayalalithaa had written to Modi demanding an apology from the Sri Lankan High Commissioner.
