Protest against Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit outside Taj PalaceNew Delhi: Tibetans had staged a protest outside Hotel Taj Palace on Friday against the President of China Xi Jinping as he and his wife are staying in the hotel.

Protesters carrying placards that read “Freedom is my birth right”, “Freedom of Tibet, Security of India” raised anti-China slogans.

Some Tibetans also tried to enter the premises of the hotel, but police managed to prevent them from doing so.

A senior police official said, “As the Tibetans refused to budge, scores of protesters have been detained by the police.”

Security has been tightened around the hotel.

Notify that some Tibetans had also staged the protest and clashed with police outside Hyderabad House on Thursday. It was the venue for the bilateral talks between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
