AAP chief Kejriwal launches his own cleanliness drive on 2 OctoberNew Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal had launched a separate cleanliness drive in Delhi on Thursday 2nd October away from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”.

Notify that Arvind Kejriwal, Former Chief Minister of Delhi had earlier this morning seen cleaning the streets near the Prime Minister’s residence at Race Course Road.

He then travelled to BR camp along with his party MLAs and joined the safai karamcharis in a cleanliness drive.

Kejriwal was accompanied by several employees of the civic agency, and he later had tea with them, an Aam Aadmi Party spokesman said.

AAP activists also picked up brooms in several parts of the capital to show their commitment for a Clean India but without joining any government sponsored event.

An AAP tweet said, “AAP will launch a cleanliness drive Oct 2. All MLAs and leaders will work as helpers to Safai Karmcharis (sweepers) and help them in their work.”

Arvind Kejriwal had urged people of Delhi to come forward and be a part of this drive. The party also intends to discuss problems faced by cleaning staff. AAP MLAs will today also have a lunch with them.
