Goa Dy. CM threaten to resign if not elevated as Goa CMPanaji: Some Legislatures of Goa had threatened to resign if Deputy Chief Minister Francis D’Souza did not elevate to the Chief Minister of Goa. Notify that Goa CM Manohar Parrikar is yet to resign today and will join the central leadership and get a place in Cabinet.

Notify that D’Souza, Health Minister Laxmikant Parsekar and Goa Assembly Speaker Rajendra Arlekar are the top contenders for the post of the next Goa CM.

The announcement on new Goa chief minister will be made by the evening.

Senior BJP leader JP Nadda said, “The Parliamentary Board Meeting discussed Goa Legislative Assembly Leadership and nomination for the Rajya Sabha member from UP. The decision will be announced at 4 PM today.”

Meanwhile Goa MLA Vishnu Vagh had supported D’Souza and said that they want the party to send across the right message since D’Souza is the senior most member in the Goa Cabinet. Vagh had also claimed that at least 10 MLAs are supporting D’Souza.

D’Souza himself had claimed that as the senior most in the Goa Assembly, he is being considered to fill in Parrikar’s shoes. He also threatened to quit if party didn’t elevated him.

Meanwhile Parrikar said that concerns of D’Souza need to be addressed.

He said, “A central observer has been appointed, who will decide and whatever feedback is required, I will give it to them. Francis D’Souza is my friend and classmate. I can never be unhappy with him, definitely his concerns need to be addressed.”
