Ahmedabad: A legislator of Bharatiya Janata Party, Kanti lal Amrutiya MLA from Morbi had been allegedly beat a “drunk” youth with rod in Morbi district on Monday.
Meanwhile police said that the youth was wielding a sword in an inebriated state when the MLA called up the police.
Meanwhile a video had been captured which showed that BJP MLA Kanti Amrutiya, and his boydguard, beating the youth with a rod.
The video is circulating in the social networking sites and WhatsApp.
The youth, Jagdish Lokhil, was welding a sword in a drunk state near Uma township of Morbi, and the MLA was also there, said Police.
Police officials of B-Division police station said, “Amrutiya called the police, we went their and arrested the youth under the charges of prohibition and arms act.”
