#Maharashtra #CM #Fadnavis attack on #Kejriwal, said had option of running away like him but didn’tNew Delhi: Newly appointed Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis attacked on former Chief Minister of Delhi and national convener of Aam Aadmi Party Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday and said he had the option of behaving like Arvind Kejriwal and running away (from responsibility), but did not.

Maharashtra CM revealed his battle-hardened side at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit in Delhi.

His response was to an observation from Barkha Dutt, group editor of NDTV that he had accepted the Nationalist Congress Party’s (NCP’s) support much like Kejriwal had taken help of the Congress to form the government.

Fadnavis said, “The NCP unilaterally offered support, which we didn’t reject. Thought we would get a deal with the Shiv Sena, it did not happen.”

He said he did not run away and instead chose to let his actions speak more than words.

On the remark of Dutt in which she said like Kejriwal, who said he would not take Congress support but did so, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) too said “na na na” (no), but took NCP support, Fadnavis replied, “You have to do some things.”

Fadnavis also discuss over the political divorce of BJP with Shiv Sena. He said, “Shiv Sena has always been our friend, I think talks will reach decisive stage soon.”

Speaking on the topic “States hold the key to India’s makeover”, Fadnavis said he could sense competitiveness among states now to develop, attract investment, go forward and set benchmarks.

He also shared his plans for to face the drought situation in state. “We have decided to make the state drought-free in five years. It is possible with proper water management; we will use technology, satellite imagery.”
