President Pranab Mukherjee and Vice President Hamid Ansari have also greeted the nation on the occasion. The President said that Guru Nanak’s message of compassion and equality of all human beings is of timeless relevance.
Guru Nanak Jayanti is being celebrated today to mark the birth anniversary of the first Sikh Guru.
On the occasion, devotees throng to Gurudwaras to remember and pay homage to their gurus. Akhand Path is also performed at Gurudwaras.
