PM Modi offer two seats for Shiv Sena in Cabinet

PM Modi offer two seats for Shiv Sena in CabinetMumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi had offered two seats to Shiv Sena in the Union Cabinet as PM Modi is expending his ministry on Sunday.

A senior Sena leader said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was merely implementing its promise to induct two more (Sena) nominees in the cabinet expansion.

He said that BJP has assured the party a few months ago and the whole issue would be discussed by the party before taking a decision in the matter.

Requesting anonymity, the leader said, “It will be thoroughly discussed and a decision shall be taken by Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray… It would depend on whether the offer is for cabinet, minister of state or independent charge.”

The PMO on Thursday sought two Shiv Sena nominees to be included in the union cabinet, to join Industry Minister Anant Geete.

Notify that Sena had threatened BJP in Maharashtra over decision of support in Maharashtra before the trust vote of CM Devendra Fadnavis government.

Meanwhile BJP has made it clear that it would consider Sena’s demands only if it helps it clear the trust vote without preconditions.

Notify that Sena leaders claim that the offer of two berths in the union cabinet would in no way affect the party’s strategy in Maharashtra.

Notify that BJP had registered victory on 121 seats plus one pre-poll ally Rashtriya Samaj Paksha, needs the support of 145 in the 288-member house.
