Home #Minister #RajnathSingh meets Army chief #DalbirSuhag over security situation of #AssamNew Delhi: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh met with Army chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag over the security situation of Assam. Notify that Bodo militants group had killed over 80 tribals in Assam.

After meeting with Home Minister Singh, General Suhag said, “We are going to intensify our operations in Assam. I can’t give out any more information.”

Singh had met with the families of victims and representative delegations of tribals at Biswanath Chariali in Assam and appealed to the people to observe restraint and prevent clashes on ethnic lines.

He also assured them of strong action against the terrorists.

The incident had been described by Home Minister as a ‘massacre’ and added that there would be a time bound action against terror.

He also clarifies that government will not talk to organizations indulging in cold blooded murder.

Singh informed that External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has spoken to the government of Bhutan and the latter has assured action against any terror outfits on its soil.

Notify that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced compensation of Rs 2 lakh to the kin of the victims.

50 companies of CAPFs of Assam and paramilitary forces along with the state police and Army had been dispatched by Centre to undertake a coordinated action against the terrorist organizations, said Rajnath Singh.

He also said that the Centre has instituted NIA probe into the Assam killings.
