#Congress leader and former Union #Minister #Krishna #Tirath joins #BJPNew Delhi: Senior Congress leader and Former Union Minister Krishna Tirath on Monday joined Bharatiya Janata Party. It had given a big jolt to the Congress party ahead of the crucial assembly election of Delhi.

Tirath had served as a Union Minister in the erstwhile Congress-led UPA government.

Tirath had confirm the report on Monday and said, “I have decided to join the party as a people’s representative. The BJP central leadership will decide on my role in the party.”

She also confirmed that she had met with National President of BJP Amit Shah on Monday Morning.

The joining of Tirath to BJP had been consolidating party’s dalit vote.

Now it has been expected that Tirath is likely to contest the assembly poll. She had represented north-west Lok Sabha constituency.

Polls had been bounded in National Capital on February 7 with the voting of elections on 10 February for all 70 constituencies of Delhi.
