New Delhi: Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar had justified blew up of boat near Porbandar coast had terror link.
Manohar Parrikar said that the coast guard’s statements that the boat did not belong to smugglers but had terror links.
He clarifies it by saying that the route taken by the boat was not a regular one while adding that what raises more suspicion is that “the people on the boat decided to blow themselves up instead of surrendering. Smugglers can always surrender the drugs.”
Security had been enhanced in the coast areas of Gujarat after the incident. Ministry had deployed 173 marine commandos at 20 police stations along coast of Gujarat.
These commandos have been asked to keep a watch on each and every boat going into the sea and returning ashore. The commandos have also been given boats to patrol the sea near the shore.
Meanwhile it had been reported that Pakistan navy had captured 12 fishermen with 2 fishing boats of India.
