Yuvraj singh likely to #replace #injured Jadeja in World Cup #squad: report New Delhi: Yuvraj Singh is most likely to replace injured Ravindra Jadeja for the ICC World Cup 2015 which starts from February 14 in Australia and New Zealand, According to reports.

Yuvraj displayed tremendous form in the ongoing Ranji #Trophy 2014-15 as he has amassed a total of 507 runs in just five innings he batted in. In his five innings he had hit three centuries and one half-century. His highest score so far came against Saurashtra at Rajkot when he scored 182 runs.

Jadeja’s fitness concerns seem to have opened the doors for Yuvraj to make a comeback into Indian One Day International (ODI) squad, just in time to play in the World Cup. Interestingly, the veteran all-rounder was not included in the 30-man probables list. However, he can still make the World Cup cut as a replacement for a injured players, in this case Jadeja.

Known as one of the best ODI all-rounders, Yuvraj helped India to two world titles – 2007 World T20 and the 2011 50-over World Cup. However, since making his comeback after surviving a cancer fight in 2012, the 33-year-old has failed to perform. After a poor 2014 World T20 outing, his place was taken by younger players likes Ambati Rayadu.

But, despite the negative developments the Punjab player kept his focus and as a result, regained his lost form in the domestic circuit. If Jadeja fails to make the team, reports added, Yuvraj can be the player to replace him because of his vast experience, besides being a big-match player.

Following a poor run of form, Yuvraj was axed from the side. After recovering from cancer, Yuvraj made a successful return to the side and participated in the ICC T20I World Cup 2014 in Bangladesh.  Yuvraj, who was the player of the tournament in ICC World Cup 2011, has scored 8329 runs in 293 matches at an average of 36.37 in his illustrious ODI career.
