#Pakistani #PM #NawazSharif suggests #Govt officers should be given #incentives on #meritIslamabad: Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif on Thursday said that government employees should be given incentives and encouraged on behalf of their talent, hard work and honesty.

PM Sharif on Thursday chaired a meeting on civil services reforms at the PM House and said the proposed incentives to the government officers should be given purely on merit and in a completely transparent manner.

Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Planning and Development had briefed the meeting on civil services reforms. Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar, Senior PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz, Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, Minister of State for Information Technology Anusha Rehman, Special Assistants to Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi and Khawaja Zaheer, MNA Danial Aziz and Secretary Finance attended the meeting.

Sharif had also advocate that proposed incentives to government officers should be given purely on merit and in a completely transparent manner.

He said the system of bureaucracy across the world has grown considerably and we must learn from international best practices while formulating policies by adapting them to our own conditions and circumstances.

He said key national agenda must be clearly defined and bureaucracy held accountable accordingly.

The prime minister said “our systems needed to be improved drastically and performance evaluation system needed to be changed so that peers and subordinates could also give their evaluation about an officer to obtain a comprehensive report”.
