#NCP alleged #Congress for smooth passage of #InsuranceBill in #RajyaSabhaNew Delhi: Senior leader of Nationalist Congress Party Majid Memon on Friday alleged Congress for the smooth passage of Insurance Bill in Rajya Sabha. He said that Congress didn’t oppose due to which the Insurance Bill passed.

Memon said, “As far as the Insurance Bill is concerned, the UPA Government had come out with the bill which is more or less the same. There are hardly any major changes. And, therefore, it was the strategy of the Congress not to oppose the present bill and once Congress agrees, which has a major number of people in Rajya Sabha, the bill has been through.”

He also said, “Although BJD and TMC expressed its displeasure and walked out, but the bill was through because of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress’ support.”

Notify that Insurance Amendment Bill had been passed in Rajya Sabha on Thursday.

According to reports, Congress MPs supported the legislature, ensuring its smooth passage in the Upper House.

The Janata Dal (United), Trinamool Congress (TMC), Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) leaders had staged a walkout from the Rajya Sabha, refusing to vote on the bill.
