2 #booked for raping mentally challenged girl in #government-run #school of #NagpurNagpur: Police said on Thursday that two persons had been booked for alleged raping 17-year-old mentally challenged girl in the hostel of a government-run school in Nagpur following which she became pregnant.

The accused, identified as Kisan Bawne, the security guard, and Bharat Kambli, the cook at the residential school meant for disabled children in south-west part of the city, allegedly raped the victim about five months back in its hostel, following which she became pregnant.

In a release, Police said that the accused also took her objectionable photographs and threatened to make them public if she revealed the offence to anybody.

A complaint had been lodged by the father of victim at Rana Pratap Nagar police station on Wednesday night after the matter came to light.

When contacted, officiating district social welfare officer B A Wani, who visited the school this morning, said a total of 47 inmates, including girls, were staying at the school’s hostel.

Police said that the offences have been registered under relevant sections of IPC and also Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act in connection with the case.
