#Controversial two-finger #test #circular for #rape #victims #withdraw by #Delhi #governmentNew Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party led government of Delhi had decided to withdraw the controversial two-finger test circular on rape survivors.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal led government has also reportedly decided to take action against the officer who issued it.

Reports had claimed that Delhi government in its latest guidelines to Delhi hospitals had okayed two-finger test on rape victims.

According to NDTV report, the circular said, “To do away with this essential pelvic examination would amount to incomplete assessment of the survivor, which will ultimately result in injustice and low conviction rates.”

The circular also said that “informed consent” of the woman should be taken before conducting the test.

Notify that the Supreme Court in 2013 ruled that a two-finger test ‘violates the privacy, physical and mental integrity and dignity’ of rape victims.
