Kabul: A convoy of foreign troops had been attacked by suicide bomber on the road running between Kabul’s airport and the US embassy on Tuesday. At least four people had been died and 19 other injured.
The attack occurred in front of Qazi Plaza, a shopping centre, along the road to the Hamid Karzai International Airport.
The road was closed off and witnesses saw damaged Nato military vehicles.
Tolo News Channel reported that eyewitnesses said at least four people died and health officials confirmed 19 people, including three women and three children, were injured.
The force of the blast rattled windows in the capital’s heavily guarded diplomatic enclave. The explosion also sent a plume of black smoke over the city’s western suburbs.
The explosion occurred as government employees were leaving their offices at the end of the working day, which is shorter during the Ramzan month of fasting.
